What we collect, who reads it, and when we delete it.

Who we are
This site is operated by Ripple Foundation, a New Jersey charitable trust, EIN 33-6478496, C/O Louis Zimick, 145 Coolidge Avenue, Englewood, New Jersey 07631. Lifeline Power is a program of the foundation. Questions about this notice go to info@lifelinepowerfoundation.org.
What we collect
- Contact and donor inquiry forms
- Name, email, and optionally phone, organization, area of interest, and whatever you write in the message field. Consent to marketing email and to SMS are separate checkboxes and are unticked by default. We will reply to your message whether or not you tick them.
- Responder applications
- Name, contact details, home address, ownership and primary-residence status, agency, role, years of service, call-back status, a supervisor contact for verification, household size, whether anyone in the household depends on powered medical equipment, an optional banded income range, and any outage history you choose to write. We do not ask for a diagnosis, a device list, a provider, an exact income figure, a Social Security number, or financial account information. You should not send them.
- Donations
- Giving is processed by Givebutter. Payment card details are never transmitted to or stored by us. Givebutter provides us with donor name, amount, and contact information for receipting and acknowledgment, under Givebutter's own privacy policy.
- Technical information
- Our host records standard request logs, including IP address and user agent, which we use for security and rate limiting. We do not run advertising trackers, third-party analytics pixels, or cross-site profiling on this site. The only cookie-equivalent storage we set is a single local preference remembering whether you chose the light or dark theme.
How application data is restricted
Application records are readable only by the selection committee. They are stored in a separate pipeline from donor records, and a suppression tag is applied automatically at intake so that an applicant cannot be enrolled in a fundraising sequence. This is enforced by configuration, not by anyone remembering it.
When we verify your service with your supervisor, we confirm active service and call-back status. We do not disclose your household details, your income, your medical answers, or the content of your application.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information with anyone for their own marketing purposes. Ever. The only third parties who process data on our behalf are our website host, our email provider, our contact record system, and Givebutter, each acting under our instruction and only for the purpose described here.
How long we keep it

Your choices
- Ask for a copy. Email us and we will send you what we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it. We will do it and confirm in writing, except where a record must be retained for tax or audit purposes.
- Withdraw the permission to use your story. At any time, in either direction, with no effect on your application or your installation.
- Unsubscribe. Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.

Children
This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. Where an application mentions household members who are minors, we collect only the household count, not their details.
Changes
If we change this notice materially, we will update the date at the top and describe what changed rather than silently replacing the text.
